Automatic synced lyrics from song audio

Create an LRC file that follows the song

Turn audio into editable synced lyrics, review each phrase against playback, and export an LRC file for music players, local libraries, karaoke preparation, or further cleanup.

Already have the lyrics, or a subtitle file to convert? The free tools handle that in the browser — no account needed. Transcribing your own audio automatically, with word-level timing, needs a minute pack or subscription.

Basic LRC uses bracketed minute-and-second timestamps. Metadata tags such as title and artist are optional.

The format

What is LRC lyrics?

LRC is a lightweight timed-lyrics format built around music playback. A timestamp appears before each complete lyric line so a compatible player knows when to show it. Unlike subtitle formats, basic LRC normally records when a line begins rather than a separate end time.

Best used for

  • Synced lyrics in compatible music players and local libraries
  • Karaoke and rehearsal preparation based on complete lyric lines
  • Sidecar lyric files stored beside an audio track

What the file carries

  • Complete lyric lines and their start timestamps
  • Common title, artist, album, and offset metadata
  • A compact, human-readable text structure

Does not reliably carry: explicit line end times in basic LRC, portable caption positioning or styling, LyricTime editing history or attached audio.

Automatic workflow

From song audio to editable LRC

01

Add your song

Upload audio after choosing minutes. If you already have the words, paste them to guide alignment.

02

Generate and review

LyricTime creates an editable timed draft. Choose line timing or word timing, then correct the words and boundaries in context.

03

Export LRC

Download a properly structured LRC file, or move the timed lyrics into the Video Studio.

Practical details

Make synced lyrics feel natural

LRC is simple to write but easy to make awkward. The phrasing, timestamp placement, metadata, and filename all affect how the result behaves in a player.

Time the sung phrase

Place the timestamp where the line begins audibly. Long instrumental gaps and pickups deserve a playback check.

Use complete, short lines

Split at natural phrases. A valid timestamp cannot compensate for a line that is too long to read while the song continues.

Match the filename

For sidecar use, many players expect the LRC and audio filenames to match. Support still varies between apps and devices.

Treat metadata as optional

Title, artist, album, and global offset tags can be useful, but the core portable information is the line text and timestamp.

Questions, answered

LRC lyrics generator FAQ

Can LyricTime generate LRC from audio?+

Yes. LyricTime can transcribe your song, create editable line or word timing, and export a line-timed LRC file. Your own audio requires purchased minutes or a subscription.

Can I make an LRC file free?+

Yes, if you already have the lyrics. Use the free Manual Timestamp Creator with optional local audio, or convert an existing SRT or VTT file with the free Convert to LRC tool.

Does an LRC line have an end time?+

Basic LRC normally stores only the start timestamp for each line. A player generally keeps that line active until the next timestamp. SRT and VTT use explicit start and end ranges.

Can I repair or edit an existing LRC?+

Yes. The Lyric File Toolkit checks the structure, lets you adjust complete lines against optional local audio, and exports a repaired or converted copy.

Will every music player display LRC?+

No. LRC support depends on the player, device, and how files are named or imported. Check the destination before relying on metadata or enhanced LRC features.

Where can I learn how to build LRC manually?+

The free How to Make an LRC File guide explains timestamps, metadata, manual timing, conversion, testing, and common errors with worked examples.
