Best for
Turn a finished song into a lyric file for video, karaoke, or archiving.
Get a working transcript down in text and time, even if it needs a quick cleanup pass after.
Go from raw audio straight to a subtitle file your editor can import.
Get line-by-line timed lyrics ready for display software.
Timestamped lyrics
LyricTime creates lyrics with timestamps - also called timed lyrics or synced lyrics - so you can export a usable SRT, LRC, or VTT file instead of manually placing every line yourself.
If you need an SRT for your song, a timed lyric file for a music player, or song lyrics with timestamps for a video workflow, start with the same audio-to-lyrics process and choose the export that fits.
The process
Any song, demo, or recording. LyricTime calculates the audio length and reserves the processing time.
Already have lyrics? Paste them in. Starting from nothing? Let LyricTime transcribe and time them from the audio.
Three editor modes - Timeline, Blocks, and Focus - built for different parts of the review process.
Download SRT, LRC, or VTT - whichever your next tool needs. You're not locked in; export more than one.
Export formats
Not sure which one you need? Video editor means SRT. Music or lyric player means LRC. Web means VTT. You can always export more than one.

Why it matters
General transcription tools are built for spoken word - interviews, meetings, podcasts - where one person talks over silence. Songs are a different problem. Vocals sit underneath instruments, layered with harmonies, following a melody rather than natural speech rhythm.
LyricTime is built specifically around timing lyrics against sung or rapped vocals - not just transcribing what is said. That is also why pasting your own lyrics tends to produce such a strong result: you remove the hardest part of the problem and let LyricTime focus on what it is built for.
What to expect
MP3 + paste lyrics
Because LyricTime already has the exact words - they are yours, used as-is - there is essentially no reason for the lyrics to come out wrong. What you are checking afterward is timing, and it is usually close to spot-on.
On plenty of songs there is nothing to fix at all.
MP3 only
Timing comes out accurate. Most of what you would review is the odd misheard word - not the timing itself. If the same word gets misheard more than once, use Find & Replace in Blocks mode to fix every instance in one go.
Either way, give the result a quick look before exporting.
Tips
If you already have lyrics written down and you are confident they are accurate and complete, paste them in with "Upload MP3 + paste lyrics." LyricTime times the words you give it rather than fact-checking them against the vocal, so guesses or partial drafts can throw off the result - if you are not sure your lyrics are right, "Upload MP3 only" is the safer choice.
If "Upload MP3 only" misheard the same word more than once, switch to Blocks mode and use Find & Replace to fix every instance at once.
Cleaner vocal mixes transcribe more accurately. If you have access to an isolated or vocal-forward version of the track, that will transcribe better than the full mix.
Check timing at section boundaries first, where verses turn into choruses - that is where small drift is most noticeable to a listener.
If the whole file feels slightly early or late by a consistent amount, that is usually a simple global offset, not a sign anything is actually wrong - nudge every line by the same amount rather than fixing them one by one.
Practical details
New accounts get a short free trial to test on their own song. Exporting requires paid minutes.
Most songs are done in well under a minute - often around 25 seconds in practice. To be safe, plan for up to 30-60 seconds depending on the song.
Yes - uploads are capped at 15MB per file. A typical full-length MP3 at standard quality comes in well under that, so this only tends to matter for unusually long songs or higher-bitrate exports.
LyricTime officially supports English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean. Outside of those, results are not guaranteed, though other languages have worked for some users in practice.
FAQ
Either. Use "Upload MP3 only" if you do not have lyrics yet, or "Upload MP3 + paste lyrics" if you do and just want them timed.
Yes. Lyrics with timestamps, timestamped lyrics, timed lyrics, and synced lyrics all describe the same basic result: lyric lines matched to the timing of the song.
Yes. Upload your song, review the timed lyrics, then export SRT for video editors, captions, YouTube, CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci, Final Cut, or similar tools.
Yes. Use LyricTime for your own recordings, demos, AI-generated songs, lyric videos, and release workflows. For Suno or Udio, pasting the generated lyrics usually gives the cleanest timing.
This page covers the general audio-to-lyrics workflow. If you have a specific use case - YouTube lyric videos or karaoke files - those pages go deeper on the export and workflow details for that specific goal.
