Common questions

About the lyric file toolkit

Are my lyric files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted inside your browser. LyricTime does not upload or store it.

What does shifting the timestamps do?

The main shift controls move every lyric cue forward or backward by the same amount. Use them when the whole file is consistently early or late. You can also adjust an individual line using the controls on that row.

Can this tool create timings from an audio file?

No. Attaching audio lets you listen and check the sync locally, but this toolkit only repairs and converts timings you already have. To create synced lyrics from a song, use LyricTime’s audio-to-lyrics service.

Can I correct or delete lyric lines?

Yes. Edit the text of any line or remove an unwanted line completely. Undo and Reset lines let you safely reverse those changes before downloading.

Can I change a line’s start, end, or duration?

Yes. Click the displayed timestamps on a lyric row to open its timing controls. Adjust the start and end separately with direct timestamp entry or small and large nudge buttons.

What happens when I open a word-timed file?

The toolkit creates a line-timed working copy so you can freely repair complete lines, text, start times, end times, and durations. Your original local file is never changed. Every download and Video Studio handoff from this page will use line-level timing. Accurate word-level correction is available through the full LyricTime service.

Can I use the corrected file to make a lyric video?

Yes. Attach your MP3 or WAV, fix the line timing, then choose Create lyric video. The song and corrected lyrics open together in the free Video Studio. Free exports include the LyricTime watermark.

Which format should I download?

SRT works with most video editors, LRC is commonly used by music players and karaoke tools, and WebVTT is designed for video on the web. Every format exported by this repair tool uses line-level timing.
