LyricTime uses AI to automatically sync your lyrics to your audio. Here's the process:
The entire process takes about 30 seconds for transcription, plus whatever time you spend reviewing.
Both sync your lyrics to the audio. The difference is how finely, and how much fine-tuning you'll want to do afterwards.
Line level — each lyric line gets a start and end time. It's the quickest to get right and works for any song. If you're doing fast rap or dense hip-hop, this is usually the better choice: word-by-word timing is hard to nail on rapid vocals, so line level saves you editing.
Word level — every individual word is timed. This unlocks word-by-word karaoke highlighting in the Video Studio — words light up one at a time as they're sung, an effect line level can't produce.
For most songs, word level with pasted lyrics gives the best-looking video for a little extra effort. For fast rap, line level is the smoother path. You can always try both — see the difference in the Video Studio.
Minutes are based on the length of your audio file:
Example: If you have 30 minutes and sync a 3:15 song, you'll have 26.75 minutes remaining.

LyricTime supports three industry-standard formats:
LRC (Lyric File)
Best for: Music distributors (DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby), Spotify, Apple Music, karaoke players
SRT (SubRip Subtitle)
Best for: Video editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro), YouTube uploads
VTT (WebVTT)
Best for: Web players, YouTube subtitles, HTML5 video players
Most major music distributors accept LRC files for synced lyrics:
Each distributor has slightly different upload processes. Check their help documentation for specific instructions on where to upload your LRC file.
LRC (Lyric) files are the standard format for synced lyrics. They're plain text files that pair each line of lyrics with a timestamp:
[00:15.50]First line of lyrics
[00:18.25]Second line of lyrics
[00:21.00]Third line of lyrics
LyricTime creates standard LRC files with line-by-line timing. Each line appears when that phrase starts singing, with natural sentence boundaries so lyrics read naturally.
